NOX Mobility

How do we inspire people to choose trains over planes? Achieving our CO₂ goals in the transportation sector requires more than new technology. It demands a shift in behavior. Short-haul flights remain one of the largest emitters in public transport, yet it is difficult to fault passengers for choosing speed, simplicity and low fares.

NOX Mobility is a Berlin-based night train startup working to change that equation. Their innovative cabin architecture is designed to compete directly with short-haul air travel by offering greater comfort & privacy at the same price, with significantly lower environmental impact.

I worked with NOX Mobility to visualize this new travel experience. We focused on the double loft configuration, which is the most spacious of their three cabin concepts.

The goal was to communicate comfort, privacy and intelligent use of space, while refining the design. Using NOX Mobility’s original plans, the cabin was completely rebuilt in CAD, textured with custom materials and rendered to illustrate their vision for a new era of overnight mobility.

Based on the original idea of NOX Mobility, the layout of the “double loft” cabin was recreated in CAD using Plasticity.

The initial focus in the first phase was on the “double loft” configuration, since many of its elements will also be adapted for the “single loft” and “double vista” configurations.

The model was fully textured in Blender and further animated and enhanced using AI.
